A purely traditional local home, it has been skillfully restored and artfully decorated for your full connvenience and pleasure. Offering all modern amenities and full comfort while also exhibiting rare traditional architectural features, such as the fireplace, fully preserved in its original form, and the bathroom among other things, will make your stay in Casa Tea as memorable as can be.

Interior

Casa Tea has been restored and interior designed with absolute respect for its authentic architectural form and its historically artistic features. Fusing traditional elements and textures with a modern minimal design, it has been decorated utilising soft earth tones and shades of green along with wooden elements and finishings. The result is a fully modern holiday home complete with all modern amenities, while still loyal to local traditional lines and style.

The centerpiece in Casa Tea is its stone fireplace in the living room. Fully preserved in its authentic structural form, it is a marvellous architectural element in its own right. The living room boasts comfortable built-in sofas with plenty of cushions for your full comfort. Casa Tea has a small kitchenette, with adequate appliances and kitchenware to make tea, coffee or some snacks. The bedroom can be reached through a charming arched doorway. It features a double bed and boasts eco-friendly Coco-Mat furnishings. The bathroom, one of the most special areas of Casa Tea, is accessed through an impressive traditional set of solid double wooden doors.

Exterior

Outside on the rooftop, which is your own special veranda complete with its own Jacuzzi and sitting area, you will enjoy spectacular views over the village, local church and the Aegean Sea merging with the sky beyond. A pergola will ensure that you remain cool and protected from the summer heat, should you wish to, and the Jacuzzi will provide the ideal space for a glass of wine, cocktails or any cool refreshments while enjoying the superb views.

Whereabouts

Casa Tea is located in the heart of the quaintly wonderful village of Megalochori, one of the most picturesque traditional villages on the island. The origins of Megalochori have been traced all the way back to the 17th century. It is known for its famous pirate hideaway spots, wine canavas and impressive historical mansions and traditional houses. These are rich in idiosyncratic architectural features like high ceilings, inner courtyards and solid wooden door entrances, whose function was both to ensure privacy as well as protect against pirates that regularly raided the island during medieval times.

Megalochori is therefore a village rich in history and culture, widely celebrated and visited by both locals and visitors. It also boasts a rich history of trade and commerce, as the prosperous land barons systematically exported the famous Vinsanto wine, still produced to this day, across the globe and to lands far beyond.

Casa Tea is so ideally located, that you will be able to seize the most out of, and enjoy this traditional village, as well as explore every other corner of this unique and most charming Greek island.

Access

Guests will enjoy complete and exclusive access to all areas of the house, its private terrace and Jacuzzi, during their stay.

You can therefore choose to relax indoors or outdoors and enjoy the fantastic views in full comfort, at any time.

Directions & Getting Around

We strongly recommend using a vehicle, rented or privately-owned, to enjoy the island of Santorini to its fullest potential.

Taxis could also be utilised, though may be scarce at times during specific parts of the season. In general, enjoying full travel independence either way, is a known ingredient in order to have a fantastic time in Santorini.

• We would kindly ask that you respect the neighbours at all times. We urge your attention to the following ‘quiet hours’ enforced by law; during which you must pay special attention; so that there is no disturbing or excessive noise coming from the accommodation:
  • Summer quiet hours (Apr.1-Sep30): 3PM-5.30PM & 11PM-7AM
  • Winter quiet hours (Oct.1-Mar.31): 3.30PM-5.30PM & 10PM-7.30AM
• Upon arrival guests must display a valid form of identification (ID or passport). Also, a short-term rental agreement must be signed as required by current Greek law under the Greek taxation system. Guests will not be able to check in if this requirement is not satisfied.
• This accommodation’s refurbishment and interior design was constructed utilising the finest materials. We expect you to respect it accordingly. Any damages will incur the relevant charges. In case these are not covered by the deposit held, additional charges will be claimed.
