Interior

The interior design of Casa Senia is based on soft and soothing colours, such as cream and pastel green, fused with shades of grey interplaying with natural light wood and rock surfaces. The outcome is an aesthetically charming combination of traditional rustic and minimal modern elements. Casa Senia boasts three bedrooms, all complete with double beds, while one of the beds is accessible by a small ladder. Kids seem to love this one 🙂

Two bathrooms are available, both with built-in shower spaces. The living room is comfy, and comes with built-in sofas, plenty of cushions for extreme comfort and sattelite TV. The kitchen is spread over two spaces, retaining the authentic architectural style of Santorinian homes. One space hosts the sink, while the other the oven. The kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances and amenities. Free WiFi access is available throughout Casa Senia.

Exterior

A charming shaded/covered alfresco dining area is just outside the front door of Casa Senia. A long wooden table – what is popularly called a ‘monastery table’ in Greece as they are identical to the tables traditionally constructed and used in monasteries throughout the country for centuries – complete with its authentic benches will provide ample space to dine in this lavishly traditional outdoor space.

Whereabouts

Casa Senia is located in the heart of the traditional village of Megalochori, one of the most picturesque villages on the island. Its existence has been traced all the way back to the 17th century. It is known for its famous pirate hideaway spots, wine canavas and impressive historical mansions and traditional houses. These are rich in idiosyncratic architectural features like high ceilings, inner courtyards and solid wooden door entrances, whose function was both to ensure privacy as well as protect against pirates that regularly raided the island during medieval times.

Megalochori is therefore a village rich in history and culture, widely celebrated and visited by both locals and visitors. It also boasts a rich history of trade and commerce, as the prosperous land barons systematically exported the famous Vinsanto wine, still produced to this day, across the globe and to lands far beyond.

We strongly recommend using a vehicle, rented or privately-owned, to enjoy the island of Santorini to its fullest potential.

Taxis could also be utilised, though may be scarce at times during specific parts of the season. In general, enjoying full travel independence either way, is a known ingredient in order to have a fantastic time in Santorini.

• We would kindly ask that you respect the neighbours at all times. We urge your attention to the following ‘quiet hours’ enforced by law; during which you must pay special attention; so that there is no disturbing or excessive noise coming from the accommodation:
  • Summer quiet hours (Apr.1-Sep30): 3PM-5.30PM & 11PM-7AM
  • Winter quiet hours (Oct.1-Mar.31): 3.30PM-5.30PM & 10PM-7.30AM
• Upon arrival guests must display a valid form of identification (ID or passport). Also, a short-term rental agreement must be signed as required by current Greek law under the Greek taxation system. Guests will not be able to check in if this requirement is not satisfied.
• This accommodation’s refurbishment and interior design was constructed utilising the finest materials. We expect you to respect it accordingly. Any damages will incur the relevant charges. In case these are not covered by the deposit held, additional charges will be claimed.
